Sin embargo, la relevancia de esta lucha no se limita a un solo d\u00eda, ya que la detecci\u00f3n temprana es esencial para aumentar las posibilidades de cura.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el c\u00e1ncer de mama?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>El c\u00e1ncer de mama es una enfermedad causada por la multiplicaci\u00f3n anormal de las c\u00e9lulas en la mama, lo que da lugar a la formaci\u00f3n de tumores malignos. Aunque es posible encontrar casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama en hombres, es mucho m\u00e1s frecuente en mujeres, y su riesgo aumenta con la edad, especialmente despu\u00e9s de los 50 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Factores de riesgo<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A pesar de que las causas exactas del c\u00e1ncer de mama a\u00fan son desconocidas, se identificaron factores de riesgo que pueden aumentar la probabilidad de desarrollar esta enfermedad, entre ellos:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ser mayor de 50 a\u00f1os.<\/li>\n<li>Antecedentes personales de c\u00e1ncer de mama o enfermedades preneopl\u00e1sicas de mama.<\/li>\n<li>Antecedentes familiares de c\u00e1ncer de mama.<\/li>\n<li>Tratamiento previo con radioterapia dirigida al t\u00f3rax.<\/li>\n<li>Terapia de reemplazo hormonal.<\/li>\n<li>Menstruaci\u00f3n temprana.<\/li>\n<li>Edad avanzada en el momento del primer parto o nuliparidad.<\/li>\n<li>Sobrepeso, falta de actividad f\u00edsica y consumo excesivo de alcohol.<\/li>\n<li>Es importante destacar que el c\u00e1ncer de mama hereditario representa solo entre el 5% y el 10% de todos los casos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Detecci\u00f3n temprana<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>La detecci\u00f3n temprana es clave para aumentar las posibilidades de curaci\u00f3n en casos de c\u00e1ncer de mama. Por esta raz\u00f3n, todas las mujeres entre 50 y 69 a\u00f1os, con o sin antecedentes personales o familiares de la enfermedad, deben realizarse una mamograf\u00eda cada uno o dos a\u00f1os. Este examen puede identificar el c\u00e1ncer de mama cuando el tumor a\u00fan no es palpable o es m\u00ednimo, lo que permite optar por tratamientos menos invasivos.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de las mamograf\u00edas regulares, es importante que las mujeres se autoexaminen peri\u00f3dicamente y se sometan a un examen m\u00e9dico anual. Algunos s\u00edntomas y alteraciones detectables en el examen f\u00edsico incluyen la retracci\u00f3n del pez\u00f3n, cambios en la textura y el color de la piel, as\u00ed como la aparici\u00f3n de prurito o lesiones descamativas.<\/p>\n<p>En sinton\u00eda con la iniciativa de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), que declar\u00f3 octubre como el mes de la sensibilizaci\u00f3n sobre el c\u00e1ncer de mama, el Colegio M\u00e9dico de Jujuy se suma a esta causa con el objetivo de aumentar la atenci\u00f3n y el apoyo a la detecci\u00f3n precoz y el tratamiento de esta patolog\u00eda.
